Product Overview
This is an incredibly rare, museum-quality, antique unglazed plain terracotta garden flower pot manufactured by the legendary Catalina Island Pottery (Santa Catalina Island, California) during its earliest island-production era in the late 1920s (established in 1927).
While Catalina Pottery is most famous for its later brightly glazed dinnerware and art vases, these early 1920s unglazed garden utilitarian pieces are virtually non-existent on the current market today. This piece showcases the raw, natural beauty of the island's native Toyon Red Clay. This is a holy grail item for serious California art pottery collectors looking to complete the historical timeline of their collection. The bottom features a highly crisp and clear impressed hallmark: "CATALINA ISLAND 6".
