(77) This listing is for a Beautiful French Antique (c early 1900s) Religious Artefact - A Pewter Liturgical Standing Crucifix featuring a multi layered triangular pedestal base, the upper three arms terminate in a trifurcated fleur-de-lys ("flower of the lily") patterns - In church tradition, this symbolizes both the purity of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Trinity due to its three-petal structure, the reverse of the cross is decorated with ornate floriate designs in relief. It is 26.5cm high, in very good condition, and it would make an interesting addition to a historical collection of religious icons.
