This vintage French kitchen baking tray is a large rectangular tin designed for making 12 classic shell shaped madeleine cakes. It is made from lightweight pressed aluminium with a double row of highly defined, shell moulds that impart a crisp ridged pattern onto each bake.The metal surface shows its age and history with light dents, fine surface scratches from previous kitchen use as shown in the photographs and video. The cake tin remains functional with folded rectangular edges and it sits stable, it measures 39.5cm long by 19.5cm wide, with each individual madeleine shell measuring 8cm long and the tray weighs 250g.
