The Artist
Peter Gandolfi was born in Parma, Italy, and earned an advanced degree in Chemistry from the University of Rome in 1970. He spent the following years, from 1972 to 1986, working as a lecturer and research fellow in Chemistry, both in Italy and Israel. In 1982, Gandolfi settled in Jerusalem, where a growing passion for painting eventually led him to devote himself to art full-time from 1986 onward. He has since exhibited in solo shows in Jerusalem, Rome, and Tel Aviv. Jerusalem's distinctive light and atmosphere became a central source of inspiration for his work, shaping an artistic language that combines a sense of wonder with a deeper exploration of the visible and the concealed, reflecting both technical sensitivity and a personal artistic vision.
