This elegant vintage French ceramic Terre de Fer dinner plate was crafted by the world renowned heritage manufacturer Gien and has a traditional stencil botanical design of stylised wine red tulips, leaves, and stems in the classic 1920s Art Deco Tulipe pattern. Gien is famous globally for its centuries of artisanal excellence, producing premium tableware for royalty and elite historic institutions from its historic Loire Valley pottery. As shown in the photographs and revolving video the creamy off white glaze has an attractive aged glaze crazing, light surface knife scratches from use and very faint age related discolouration spots that enhance the detailed floral motif in a traditional French country house style. The display plate measures 26cm in diameter with a depth of 3.5cm while the weight is 610g.
