RARE ANTIQUE ESTRAP CAST IRON PENCIL SHARPENER C.1930 CZECHOSLOVAKIA JUPITER TYPE

Rare and highly collectible antique ESTRAP cast iron table-mounted pencil sharpener, made in Czechoslovakia, circa 1930.

This substantial mechanical sharpener is a Czechoslovak counterpart to the famous German Jupiter pencil sharpeners and uses the same type of cutters associated with Jupiter / Guhl & Harbeck, Hamburg.

The sharpener is preserved in very good original condition, with an attractive age-related patina. The mechanism is working.

It comes with a removable waste tray; please note that the tray is a later replacement and is not original to the sharpener.

A particularly interesting and uncommon piece of early 20th-century Czechoslovak office equipment and an excellent addition to a collection of antique pencil sharpeners, writing instruments, mechanical office equipment or industrial design.
