This listing is for one antique calendar plate made for the year 1914 as a promotional giveaway for The Beaumont State Bank in Beaumont, Kansas. There is no maker's mark on the base of this piece.
Situated in the scenic Flint Hills region, the town of Beaumont was a prominent cattle-shipping hub along the Frisco Railway during the early 20th century. Local institutions like The Beaumont State Bank supported the prosperous ranchers, railroad workers, and mercantile businesses driving the local economy. As proudly displayed on the front of the plate, the bank operated with a capital and surplus of $12,000.00 under the leadership of President James Edgar and Cashier F.T. Hopp. Calendar plates like this were a popular tradition during this era, gifted by merchants and banks to their loyal patrons at the start of the new year.
Fair condition. No chips or cracks. This is a well-used plate. It shows heavy staining across the surface and some wear to the gold trim, with the majority intact. Please see the pictures for more information and to help with your decision.
