Albert Szent-Györgyi (1893–1986)

Hungarian biochemist and Nobel Prize laureate. He conducted much of his important research in Szeged and was awarded the 1937 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discoveries concerning biological combustion processes, with particular reference to Vitamin C and fumaric acid.
