I was fortunate recently to be able to acquire a good collection of antique & vintage sterling silver cycling prize fob medals dating from the 1890s up to the 1960s. I am now putting these medals up for auction at very reasonable starting prices (ofter below the sterling silver scrap price) but with a Buy it Now option for anyone who does not wish to wait.
This example is:
A Victorian sterling silver & enamel cycling medal/lapel badge from the 1890s.
The front of the round badge features blue enamel & is embossed:
"PIONEER CYCLING CLUB. 1881"
The obverse is not engraved:
Sterling Silver Badge: Weight: 6.1 gm. Diameter: 21 mm. Hall Mark: Birmingham 1894 (date letter a little indistinct but appears to be for 1894). Maker's Mark: Vaughton & Sons.
Summary: As can be seen from the photos this is an attractive & collectable antique sterling silver cycling medal. Good luck!
NOTE: Please see my other listings of sterling silver cycling medals. If more than one medal is purchased please wait until you receive an invoice before paying as I am happy to combine postage.
