In 2010’s I was working as a music photographer and in approx 2012 I covered SXSW in Austin Texas. There was a huge buzz about ASAP collective and the show there was one of their 1st ever major gigs.

The venue was rammed with industry and guests as there was so much hype. When the band came on there was a massive surge to the front (tiny venue) and everything went completely wild. The band were coming right to the edge of the stage and touching the crowd. It got so crazy that within 5 minutes or less security pulled the gig for safety reasons.

During these moments of craziness, i was in the photo pit which is a small area sealed off between band and audience. Asap Rocky came right up to where I was positioned and in the mad moment his bandana fell off. I managed to pick it up and I have had it ever since.

It’s still crisp and fresh. He prob put it on from new for the show. It has written on it “assassinate snitches & police” which is presumably what asap stands for.
