Stunning vintage Murano Sommerso Art Glass Block Vase, designed by Flavio Poli and manufactured by Alessandro Mandruzzato in Venice, Italy. Typically dates from the 1960s to 1970s.

It features the famous Sommerso (meaning "submerged") glassmaking technique, which layers contrasting colors of glass inside thick, clear crystal without mixing them.

In excellent vintage condition. The thick crystal casing remains highly transparent, free from the cloudy "sick glass" look that results from internal hard water staining.The sharp, geometric corners and faceted face edges are crisp, with no obvious impact chips or cracks. There is an internal air bubble which I have tried to show clearly in the last photo.
