This is a Globe-Wernicke library style two drawer tabletop catalog or file case.
The cabinet is 14 inches wide by 16 inches deep by 5 ½ inches tall. It may be made of mostly walnut. It has two khaki brown pulls with label slots. The pulls are bakelite or plastic. One has a small indention where it may have been tapped and melted by something hot.
In January 26, 1943, Globe-Wernicke Company implemented an invention granted to Harry Hegemeier of Norwood, Ohio. It was a card follower, a mechanical support device used inside filing cabinets, index card boxes, or drawer systems. It slides along a track to hold index cards or documents upright and tightly packed when a drawer is not completely full, preventing them from slipping down or bending.

The cabinet shows some wear. Scratches, veneer loss to the back.
