Original double‑sided autograph album page, with the golf‑day celebrity side treated as the front. A superb and unusual survival from a 1960s pro‑am / charity golf event, featuring three identifiable figures including the legendary Australian amateur golfer Bill Edgar, alongside major British television personalities.

FRONT (primary side – celebrity golf event)

At the top is a humorous inscription typical of mid‑century pro‑am banter:

“This is golf, not Caddy Master! Thank you!”

Beneath it are three strong, clean signatures:

  • Cliff Michelmore – BBC broadcaster and presenter (Tonight, 24 Hours, Holiday), a regular participant in charity golf days during the early–mid 1960s.

  • Bill Edgar (Aust) Melbourne – the celebrated Australian amateur golfer, known as “Australia’s Bobby Jones”. A Melbourne Sandbelt icon, Edgar won 3 Victorian Amateur Championships, 2 South Australian Amateur Championships, and an extraordinary 19 Commonwealth Golf Club titles, playing pennant golf for 44 years. His signature “(Aust) Melbourne” is entirely consistent with his identity and his mid‑1960s period teaching at the Butten School in England.

  • Charlie Drake – major British comedian and television star, well‑known for charity appearances and golf‑day participation. His inscription “Thank you for all your help” is typical of his warm signing style.

This combination of BBC broadcaster + comedian + elite golfer is characteristic of Variety Club, BBC charity, or holiday‑camp celebrity tournaments of the period.

c.1963–1966, aligning with:

  • Michelmore’s peak BBC period

  • Charlie Drake’s charity‑golf schedule

  • Bill Edgar’s arrival in England to teach at the Butten School

REVERSE (secondary side – variety performers)

Five mid‑century signatures, likely regional theatre / club‑circuit performers: Jim Bough, Eddie Carter, Malk / Malky, Timmi Watt & C. Dickson
