Original double‑sided autograph album page, dating to the mid‑1960s (c.1963–67), featuring three major British television figures. The front side carries two early Coronation Street autographs; the reverse holds a bold signature from one of Britain’s most enduring comedy icons.
Front side: At the top is Arthur Leslie, who has added his character name “(Jack Walker)” beneath the signature. Leslie played the beloved landlord of the Rovers Return Inn from the show’s very first episode in 1960 until his sudden passing in 1970.
Below is William Roache, signing in his early style as “William”, with “(Ken Barlow)” written underneath. Roache appeared in the premiere episode in 1960 and remains the world’s longest‑serving television actor in a continuous role. Early signatures with character names are strongly sought after.
Reverse side: A bold autograph of Freddie Frinton — a major mid‑century British comedian. Frinton was a household name through the BBC sitcom Meet the Wife (with Thora Hird), and achieved international cult fame for his 1963 sketch Dinner for One, now a mandatory New Year’s Eve broadcast across Germany, Scandinavia, and Austria.
Dating: Handwriting style, ink, and the career peaks of all three performers place this page firmly in the 1963–67 period, with 1964–66 the strongest match.
A rare and desirable combination of early Coronation Street material and international comedy heritage.
