Luis Carlos Montesdeoca was a former Mattel engineer who worked on Hot Wheels from at least the 1980s until 1997.
He collaborated closely with legendary Hot Wheels designer Larry Wood. Collectors and sellers describe him as a Mattel designer and engineer involved in design, legal aspects, and engineering for the basic/mainline cars, Toy Fair pieces, adult collectibles, and employee/special cars over nearly two decades.
His name sometimes appears on older Hot Wheels models as a driver name or sponsor-style decal. Items from his personal or employee collection (prototypes, samples, chrome redline variants, resin prototypes, etc.) occasionally surface among collectors and on secondary markets.
