Original collection of vintage sepia /black and white family photographs, predominantly dating from around the 1920s–1930s, with some possibly slightly earlier or later.

The collection contains a wonderful mixture of family portraits, holidays, outings and travel scenes, giving a fascinating glimpse into British social and family life between the wars.

Among the photographs are some particularly appealing images featuring early motor cars, including an open-top touring car with passengers, together with ladies and gentlemen in period clothing. Other photographs show family groups, children, seaside and coastal scenes, countryside outings, boating, buildings, streets and various places visited.

There are also photographs of larger groups and several attractive architectural and landscape views. Some photographs have handwritten annotations or place names on the reverse, including one which appears to reference St Catherine's.

A lovely mixed archive with plenty to study, particularly suitable for collectors interested in social history, genealogy, early motoring, travel, fashion and everyday British life during the early 20th century.

Condition

Original vintage photographs in mixed used condition consistent with their age. There is some expected age-related wear including light creasing, corner and edge wear, curling, surface marks, fading and discolouration. Some have handwritten notes or inscriptions to the reverse.
