This is a printed PAPER sewing pattern for a lovely 1890s Shirt Waist. It has been carefully reproduced line for line from an original pattern by The Cosmopolitan Fashion Model Company. Year/ era: circa 1899 - The 1899 Spring/Summer Cosmopolitan counter book shows this pattern in 1899. However, the pattern may have been sold for a few years before or after that date. Size: 38-inch bust. One size only at this time. No waist measurement was given in the original source pattern but as the waist is gathered, it should be adjustable to your needs. The belt as illustrated is not included. This pattern is part of our special Advanced Couturière line, composed of patterns intended for the advanced seamstress or tailor. These patterns were marketed originally in the 1890s to both experienced seamstresses and professionals alike and assume that you have a solid understanding of clothing construction. The original pattern only included very basic instructions and we have not added any. To sew these, you should have a basic understanding of how pattern pieces should fit together. May include little-to-no instructions, no facings, no buttonhole markings, no hand-holding of any kind etc. If you like a challenge, if your friends refer to you as the sewing God/ Goddess, if you are made of thread, needles, and ferocity, this pattern is for you.
