Memory of Time’s rarity index:

5- Rare:

Infrequent overall; present but difficult to secure in high quality.

This Rarity Index ranges from 1 (rarest) to 10 (Abundant). It is determined by Memory of Time’s 90+ years of experience in the Lebanese marine fossil domain. It considers, among other factors: the rarity of the specie(s)on a particular slab; the state of conservation/preservation; the rarity of the species at the specific locality; the rarity of finding multiple species together on one slab (if relevant); and the specimen’s size, completeness, and overall quality relative to typical examples of the same species. Assessments are specimen- and locality-specific and may be updated as new discoveries or research emerge.
