This listing is for a vintage Selmer (Paris) "Soloist" mouthpiece for alto saxophone. This is not the current re-make, but rather a true vintage 1950's era Selmer mouthpiece. This is the first version of the Soloist lineage, which was included with the early Mark VI model horns. It is the 'short shank' version. In my experience, these consistently outplay later variations. This mouthpiece features a horseshoe shaped chamber and a scroll design on the shank. This one comes in an original "C**" facing. The tip opening measures right on spec at .071".

This mouthpiece is in good used condition. There are a few small nicks/scratches on the side rails that don't seem to affect playability, but you might want to have it touched up by your favorite mouthpiece re-facer none-the-less. Other than that, the facing is smooth, and original. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There are no cracks, chips, or other damage. The rubber shows mild fading/discoloration, and a few light scratches/scuffs on the exterior. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized.
