The Yugoslav People's Army, also called the Yugoslav National Army, was the military of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and its antecedents from 1945 to 1992 and primary branch of Yugoslav armed forces.

Mountain units was one of the branches of the army.

Like most other fabric made YPA gear and equipment (such as their uniforms and backpacks), this complete uniform was also made in the usual SMB (Sivo Maslinasta Boja - Greenish Grey Color, the official YPA fatigue) and were intended to complement the needs of mountain units.
