First officially published in November 1800, navigation charts produced by the UK Hydrographic Office are an essential for sailors the world over and have an instantly recognisable, almost iconic, design. Admiralty Chart 288 covering the Sea of Japan, Southeast Coast of Siberia, Russian Tartary, and Ussuri Bay near Vladivostok.
DATE PRINTED: 1947 from a map first issued in 1903.
SIZE: The printed area of the view, including titles, is approximately 101 x 68 cm (39.5 by 26.75 inches) (large) plus margins with a centre fold as issued.
ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: Published by the Admiralty, 14th August 1903.
TYPE: Vintage lithograph printed on thick paper.
VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side.
CONDITION: Good; suitable for framing. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. Virtually all antiquarian paper is subject to some normal aging due to use and time which is not significant unless otherwise stated.
