The KKPIT ZQR is a 1:7 scale 4WD electric touring car developed for high-speed road driving, circuit use and performance-focused RC enthusiasts. Built around KKPIT's dedicated KRL-RS on-road platform, the ZQR combines a low centre of gravity chassis, 360mm wheelbase, three-differential drivetrain and highly adjustable steering and suspension geometry to deliver a much more focused road-going package than the rally-based KRL XNR.

At the heart of the ZQR is a heavy-duty shaft-driven 4WD transmission using three sealed differentials at the front, centre and rear. Each differential uses metal internal gears and can be individually tuned using different oil viscosities, allowing the driver to alter front-end response, power distribution and rear traction to suit the surface and driving style. This three-differential layout provides smooth power delivery while giving experienced users considerably more setup potential than a simpler fixed drivetrain.

Power is transferred to the wheels through spring-steel CVD drive shafts and hard-coated aluminium wheel axles, providing the strength required for powerful brushless setups while keeping rotating mass under control. The complete drivetrain has been designed around the demands of a large-scale touring car, where smooth power delivery, minimal drivetrain play and predictable handling are particularly important at higher speeds.

The ZQR also introduces KKPIT's Direct Drive Steering System, designed to provide a more immediate connection between the steering servo and the front wheels. The steering system provides three separate areas of adjustment, including steering arm length, servo fore/aft position and servo mounting angle. Combined with adjustable steering links, this gives the driver plenty of scope to tune steering speed, Ackermann effect and overall response.

Suspension geometry has been developed specifically for the lower KRL-RS touring chassis. The shock mounting positions are moved further outboard on the suspension arms, increasing damper effectiveness and helping the chassis react more precisely during fast direction changes. Camber, toe, ride height and other suspension settings can be adjusted to suit everything from fast road driving through to more circuit-focused setups.

With its 360mm wheelbase and low-profile chassis layout, the ZQR is designed around large-scale touring and GT-style bodies rather than the longer, higher-riding rally shells used on the XNR. KKPIT offers the platform with a selection of purpose-designed ZQR bodies including the CS160, CS161 Scarlet Skyblade and CS163 White Comet designs.

Whether you're building a dedicated high-speed road car, setting up a large-scale touring machine for circuit use or simply want a highly adjustable premium on-road platform, the KKPIT ZQR offers an impressive combination of drivetrain tuning, precise steering and large-scale performance.

Important Information

All KKPIT models [including the RTR version] require the user to install all body-shell accessories/trims, LED lights and decals where applicable. Also, KKPIT models do not come with paper-back manuals - the manual and all assembly instructions are available digitally and are to be downloaded by the user. Links below:
