Vintage French FNCPG-CATM Medal - "Pour un Monde Solidaire"
An original commemorative medal issued by the Federation Nationale des Combattants, Prisonniers de Guerre et Combattants d'Algerie, Tunisie, Maroc (FNCPG-CATM). This French veterans' federation represents former prisoners of war from both World Wars and veterans of the North African campaigns.
This is the only one we have. When it sells, it will not be relisted.
Obverse
A ring of stylised human figures holding hands around the inscription "POUR UN MONDE SOLIDAIRE" (For a Solidarity World) - a post-war message of international unity from the organisation representing former French POWs and colonial campaign veterans.
Reverse
A soldier in greatcoat standing beside a watchtower, with the federation initials "FNCPG" and "CATM" around the rim. The watchtower and barbed-wire devices on the ribbon reference the prisoner-of-war experience central to the organisation's identity.
Ribbon
Green outer edges with beige fields and a central blue-white-red French tricolour group. Two barbed-wire emblems are affixed to the ribbon, symbolising internment and the POW experience.
The medal is in very good original condition with an uncleaned silver patina. The relief detail on both sides remains crisp and well-defined. The ribbon is intact with light storage wear, and the pin fastener is functional. The barbed-wire devices are securely attached. Please examine all photos carefully for condition details.
