Pentax K-r [Body number - 4038321] complete with 18-55 SMC Pentax DA f3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL WR lens [Number 5420343], complete with Pentax lens cap, lens hood, neck strap, charger + lead, Pentax battery [which  holds its charge well] and spare non-Pentax battery [which I have always used as a 'backup'].

There is also a 'HOYA ' AA battery adapter [supplied when the camera was purchased, which I have never used] which allows AA batteries to power the camera.

The lens is fitted with a Kenko AIR UV 52mm filter [which was fitted to the lens when purchased] and the screen is also protected with a screen protector [also fitted when the body was purchased].

The lens is clear, focussing and zoom are smooth and the rubberised rings are clean. There is little or no obvious visible wear to the lens markings. The flash works but I have not been able to test it on the range of settings the camera permits.

The camera body is in good condition with no obvious marks, scuffs or scratches and the screen is clean and unmarked. The battery compartment and lens mount are also both clean. In all, a good used example of the Pentax K-r.

This is still a capable camera and with the a K-mount, a large number of 'older' Pentax lens will fit and work with it.

There is one feature which is common to this camera and some other Pentax models produced at the same time which you need to be aware of and that is the autofocus operation in dim/isome types of incandescent light.

Depending on the lighting, the lens will 'hunt' for a spot to focus on [the lens motor moves the lens backwards and forwards looking for a focus spot].  I have never found this a problem as the lens has usually manages to find a spot to focus on.

Other suggestions to solve this [e.g. switching to manual foucus] can be found on the internet/instruction manual. I do not have the manual for the K-r but will enclose a one for a K-x which is a very similar camera.

Please also note 'the write speed' to the SD card will depend on the type of card used and an unused 'Integral' 8GB card is also included.

The camera has not had a geat deal of use over the last few years and has been stored in a Lowpro case which I will also include in this auction.

There is a selection of photographs which have been taken to check the camera on  Friday, the 14th of August, 2026 with the item which is for sale which will give you some idea of its potential.

Please examine the photographs carefully as they show the items which are included in the sale. Please also note, I do not post overseas, so UK bidders only. Thanks for your interest and looking.
