Olympus OM-System G.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.4 manual focus prime lens in Olympus OM fit. This is the fast f/1.4 standard lens, a clear step up from the common f/1.8, and a favourite for its rendering and shallow depth of field wide open. Serial number 302153, the earlier G.Zuiko version. It has a 49mm filter thread and comes with a 49mm UV filter fitted, plus Olympus front and rear caps [confirm both caps are included].

Optics. The glass is clear with intact coatings, no fungus and no separation. There is some very light dust as normal for age, which has no effect on images. Please note the front element carries the characteristic warm amber tint of this early thoriated version. This is a colour cast, not haze, and it does not reduce sharpness or contrast. It has little effect on black and white film and is easily neutralised with white balance when the lens is adapted to digital. It can also be reduced by exposure to UV light. The aperture blades are dry and clean with no oil, and the focus and aperture rings turn smoothly.

Fit and use. Native to Olympus OM film bodies including the OM-1, OM-2, OM-10 and OM-4. It also adapts easily to modern mirrorless cameras such as Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Canon RF and Nikon Z using an inexpensive OM adapter, which keeps these lenses in steady demand.
