1965 Beta Comoscio 50cc.

I bought this as a winter project and I have used it on a few runs over the summer. It's time to move it on to make way for a new project. It has a V5 and is MoT and Tax exempt. 95% original parts. It wasn't on the road when I bought and it now is. Please note, these bikes were sold with an optional speedometer, this one doesn't have it. A £10 cycle computer works fine though. Only does 30mph though!

Work done:

Frame and mudguards blasted and powder coated.

NOS piston rings fitted.

New condenser.

New fork bushes (machined and fitted).

NOS ignition coil.

New swinging arm bushes and spindle (machined and fitted).

Tank and side panels have their original patina, but rubbed down with 1000 grade wet n dry and satin lacquered.

Work that might be required:

Revisit the clutch mechanism as it's a bit quirky and is trial and error to get it right. This is because the gear change and clutch are combined.

A couple of cooling fins are broken on the barrel, but doesn't affect it.

It runs fine and I would take it out on the road no problem as it stands. Note: Runs on 40:1 oil mixture and the choke comes off automatically when you rev it. Don't force it!

When I picked it up, I took the front wheel and tank off and put it in my estate car.
