A 1930s art deco poker chip caddy complete with approximately 200 Catalin (an early plastic) poker chips in red, blue, green, orange, purple, yellow, dark blue/black and white. The majority of the red and green chips are a gorgeous translucent colour. They are stored in a mahogany box with slots for each stack of 25 chips. The lid is screwed on with a cherry red bakelite handle which allows for it to be carried and stored safely before releasing the chips when required. Both the base of the box and lid are lined with black felt to protect the table and chips. Perfect for a games night or as a house warming gift, this set is as useful today as it was when it was made.
This is a vintage item and so may show signs of its previous life. Overall this set is in good condition. There is some signs of wear to the box including a chip off one chip stack slot. The cherry bakelite handle is in excellent condition. The chips are slightly faded in places and show signs of use. All the tokens except one green are unchipped. The black felt on the bottom is coming up on one corner. Please see photos for details.
It is approximately 11cm in height (including knob), 11cm in width, and 20.5cm in length. In total it weighs approximately 970g.
Each chip is approximately 3cm in diameter and 2mm thick and weigh 1.7g.
