Grading

 

Grading schemes that are not professional vary from buyer to buyer. This is the grading scale that I use with the given reasons.  If I am torn between two grades given these following guidelines, I will say so in the title.  If you are an interested buyer, and notice that I have placed a grade on a card that you feel disagrees with the corresponding description above, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will fix it.

 

NM - Near Mint

One or Zero faint white marks/scratches in the corners or edges.  Very minor surface damage may be immediately or obviously visible, but there may be further surface damage from close inspection under strong light sources.

 

SP - Slightly Played

Two or more minor white marks/scratches, or one significant mark/scratch in the corners or edges.  This includes faint lines (e.g. those horizontal lines common from the Unlimited set) and very small scratches on the surface.  If I feel there is no mark/scratch that definitely detracts from the overall image, whether it be on the surface, corner or edge, I may decide to add a "Plus" (+) to this rating.  Small dust particles may be seen from pictures of the card either around the surface or on the corners and edges.  No obvious discoloration is involved.

 

MP - Moderately Played

Visible white marks/scratches in the corners, surface and edges.  Marks/scratches may show small artificial discolorations (i.e. from a pen, pencil or crayon or some other external source) on the card that detract from its overall image.  Overall, the imperfections will generally be smaller, fainter in nature and not-so abundant or strong.

 

P - Played

Visible white marks/scratches in the corners, surface and edges with discoloration and one or two bigger mark(s)/scratch(es) on the corners, edges, or surface that seriously detract(s) from the image.  

 

HP - Heavily Played

Major white marks/scratches in the corners, surface and edges that show strong, severe impressions on the card.  However, there are no damaging creases or "missing pieces" of the card.  

 

Please make sure that you carefully and closely judge each one of my pictures before placing an order on the card.  What you see is what you are buying.  Once shipped, complaints about marks that were easily seen from the pictures will not be tolerated.

 

Bends & Centering

 

While I give a grade to each card, this grade does not account for any sort of minor bends (i.e. bends with no visible crease).  My cards have been kept in humid areas under pressured storage areas, so any elevations or curves that may have been formed over the course of many years are completely out of my control.  Additionally, there are many ways to fix a card to make it flatter.  ANY CARDS THAT YOU ARE BUYING, WHETHER NM OR NOT, MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE MINOR BENDS DUE TO EXTERNAL PRESSURES!!!

 

I do not measure the card in order to judge how far away from the center it is, or how close to the center it should be.  Thus, centering is not accounted for in my grading scheme.  If I feel that a card is strongly off-centered, I will say so in the title.

 

Boosters & Boxes

 

I only sell boxes and packs if they are factory sealed and have not been directly in touch.  If you are buying a booster box, I take pictures of the actual box you are buying.  However, if you are buying a booster pack, due to large volumes I do not take pictures of the booster pack you are buying, so the image on the front may be different.

 

Shipping

 

As of mid-November 2019, shipping is free for all cards.

 

I try to ship all of my packages with the utmost care and respect for the contents that I am shipping to my buyers.  From the time they are listed, each card is put into a penny sleeve until a buyer gives it a new home.  :)

 

The following procedure is done for each package:

 

1) Blue latex gloves are put on to ensure no fingerprints.

2) The card is safely put into a top loader.  Top loaders can be taped closed ONLY upon buyer request.

3) The card is wedged between two flat pieces of cardboard from recycled boxes.

4) The contraption is rubber banded twice: once horizontally, once vertically

5) The contents are all put into a bubble-wrapped yellow or white envelope, generally 6" x 10" but the size may vary depending on resources.

6) Items that need to be shipped are carefully put into a plastic bag.

7) I walk directly to the post office and drop them off, making sure that they have their own space when they leave.

 

Return & Refund Policies

 

Partial Refund - I only offer partial refunds to buyers if I made a mistake by giving the buyer either an item in a different language; or an item that was under the wrong name or wrong set; or the item was damaged upon shipment.  In these (EXTREMELY rare) cases, I learn from myself and do better the next time around, so my partial refund offer will generally be friendly to the buyer and well-compensated for damages and hardships. 

 

Full Refund - If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the quality of the card, then you are entitled to a free return (i.e. I pay out-of-pocket for shipping costs) and a full refund upon return and inspection of the card.
