Offered is this antique Victorian photo album with a green velvet cover, featuring a white celluloid (or similar) front with a raised design containing a young cherub-like fairy and flowering branches. The album has a brass clasp with a patent number of 253,281 (see photo #7), which was issued on Feb. 7, 1882. Inside are 15 cardboard pages with openings for photos, white decorated in gold designs. Two of the 15 have four openings per page; the others have one large opening. There are no photos included. I do not know what company made it.

The album is approx. 10 1/2” x 8 1/2” and is about 2 1/2” thick. It is in very good condition for its age. There is one short crack and a few small spots of damage to the white front piece, which also has some light soiling in the crevices. The velvet has no tears but does have some fading and light marks. The brass clasp opens and closes properly. The pages have no major tears or creases but a few do have some minor wear around the openings.

I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions. I will do my best to answer them!
