Up for sale is this charming little vintage Japanese Moriage miniature flask vase, dating to the 1920s–1930s interwar export period.
Featuring a classic flattened "moon flask" or canteen silhouette, this piece measures just over 3" tall and 2.5" wide across the center, sitting on a 1.75" by 1" oval base. The front showcases a vibrant, hand-painted portrait of a figure (often interpreted as Kannon or a traditional Japanese immortal) outlined in raised, tactile Moriage slip-trailing. Bright enameled accents in blue, green, and deep orange create a striking contrast against the dark rim and side scrolling.
The reverse features subtle cloud motifs over a warm peach background, and the underside carries the period-correct, hand-applied black enamel "MADE IN JAPAN" mark.
