Offered for sale is this unique artisan Bakelite ring that was crafted by the renown Bakelite artist Jorge de Oca. The provenance for the ring comes from the late artisan's wife. (See photo #11) The ring is a size 7 and the ring weighs 11 grams. 

The ring is has three layers of Bakelite that are mounted on what I believe to be a clear Lucite base. The first layer is a marbled Mississippi mud color; next is a marbled brown and butterscotch layer and ring is topped off with a marbled amber domed shaped piece of Bakelite. 

The Bakelite layers of the ring tested positive for Bakelite using Simichrome polish. (See photo #12) No chips, cracks or gaps in the laminated layers were noted.
