This elegant lithograph depicts three White-tailed Emerald hummingbirds (Thaumatias chionurus) interacting with a large, delicate purple orchid. Originating from the renowned Arents Collections at The New York Public Library, this work is a reproduction of a plate from John Gould's monumental 19th-century ornithological series. Gould was the most prolific bird artist of his era, and Richter was his primary collaborator, known for his precision and lifelike renderings of botanical and avian subjects in the Victorian natural history tradition.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with bright colors and no visible foxing or damage to the print surface. The frame is structurally sound but shows minor surface wear and small gilt losses consistent with age. The protective backing remains intact with minor handling wear and original library collection labels.
