A rare and exceptional vintage late twentieth-century British Laugharne Glass studio vanity set comprising a cylindrical vase, a perfume decanter and a scent bottle, both complete with their original stoppers, manufactured in Wales, UK, circa 1980s. This is a famous British studio glass from the late 20th century.

The transparent deep mottled ruby (cranberry) glass was individually hand-blown by the studio's artisans. A thick hallmarked sterling silver overlay was mechanically applied before being meticulously hand-engraved. The necks of the vessels and their ground glass stopper stems were precision-fitted by manual abrasive grinding, producing an accurate airtight seal.

The ensemble incorporates two distinct factory decorative patterns. The vase and the central scent bottle feature the botanical "Wild Rose" design, while the decanter and its ball stopper are decorated with the abstract Art Nouveau "Scroll & Volute" motif. The contrasting silver patterns demonstrate the workshop's ability to produce different decorative ranges while maintaining the same exceptionally high standard of craftsmanship.

The Welsh workshop, Laugharne Glass of Carmarthenshire, established during the late twentieth century, became renowned for combining hand-blown coloured art glass with richly detailed hallmarked sterling silver overlays. Working on a comparatively small scale, the studio produced premium vases, perfume decanters and scent bottles in limited quantities before permanently closing following the death of its principal master glassblower around 2010.

Both solid cranberry glass stoppers are original to their respective vessels and retain their matching hallmarked sterling silver overlays.

The undersides retain their original circular paper factory labels reading "Hand Made by Laugharne", complete with the workshop's historic landline telephone number.
