Rare 1940s unused linen Utility CC41 sheet. This is a LINEN sheet not cotton. Flat heavy linen sheet, Small hems top and bottom
Stamped CC41 7114 in black ink on one side near selvedge. This stamp mark has printed itself further up as folded when wet.
The Utility scheme was launched in 1941 in the UK during WW2 and continued until 1952.
This linen sheet is old stock, unused and unwashed. Museum quality and perfect to display as well as use.
See photos for light foxing marks mainly on the edge folds from storage. The foxing will come away with a hot oxy wash or, if necessary bleaching.

The CC41 “Controlled Commodity 1941" also known as the Utility mark, identified products manufactured as part of the British Government's Utility Scheme which included clothing, furniture and textiles. Introduced by the British Board of Trade, the CC41 label ensured items met strict standards for quality and economy and also regulated UK wartime resources. Alongside clothing coupons the scheme ensured essential goods of high quality were available to the public
