5 Vintage Soda Siphon Bottles + Wooden Display Box Glass Antique Syphon Seltzer.
Here is a great set of 5 vintage (maybe antique?), soda siphon bottles in an old oak display box.
We’ve only ever used this set as decoration so I can’t tell you if any of them are useable. If you’re a whizz with old soda bottles and valves you may be able to get some or all in working condition but please assume not and then enjoy the bonus if you can.
There are two Rodwells Ltd bottles, one Schweppes with a Royal Warrant, a Fryco and interestingly, a Blue Anchor Beverage Co. bottle all the way from Philadelphia USA! I think that’s quite a rare one, not sure?
From my observations, I can tell you that the valves unscrew from four but the white Bakelite (I think it’s Bakelite?) one is tight and won’t undo. I don’t want to force it so again, if you’re proficient with these valves, I’ll leave it to you.
I can see that one of the glass siphon tubes has broken off and the nozzle of one of the valves looks like it has a hairline crack. I’m leaving well alone, again for the new owner to investigate.
There are chips to bases of two of the bottles (see images), one more than the other but I can’t see cracks to the rest of the body.
Some moisture and liquid present in all of them.
The display box is great. All I can tell you is that it’s old oak and it’s very sound and not rocket at all. Very unusual and I’ve never seen one like it before.
The box measures 21” wide and 9” high.
All in all, a lovely old set from a bygone era which just oozes nostalgia. Great in a period bar or dining area and equally at home as a contrasting piece in more modern surroundings.
Please have a good zoom in on the images for full details of style and condition and drop me a message if you have any questions.
