Really awesome Black Forest carving of monk having a beer. This is one of the best ones you will ever see.  He is dual purpose in that he is not only a thing of beauty but he is also a humidor. Many nice features to him. I do see three areas of problem. He has a chip on The back side of his elbow, a chipped bottle behind his head, and one of the screws has broken through on the hinge. I have the piece of wood but I thought you might wish to put it back together yourself to your liking. 

He features many exceptional elements not normally seen in common Black Forest carving. He has his own base carved out of wood, he's carrying a basket with two more beers, his apron hides the seam to his jar which is a great feature. His hand has a pinky wrapped around the butt of the bottle and his fat and cheeks show the delight of his cold one. 

This is a great piece It kind of reminds me of the Coca-Cola mean Joe Green commercials of the '80s.  There is currently a rabbit like him that is a tobacco jar on eBay for $15,000.  He has 40 watchers, just for comparison.  Take a good look and give it full consideration.
