Trio Motion MC403 P823 Motion Coordinator | 3-Axis Stepper | ARM11 | 24V DC
The Trio Motion MC403 (P823) is a standalone Motion Coordinator in the MC403 family, configured for Three (3) axis stepper control. The P823 is one of five axis configurations available across the MC403 product line, with the P824 offering a combined 2-servo / 3-stepper configuration. Refer to manufacturer documentation to confirm compatibility with your specific application.
The MC403 uses a high-performance ARM11 532 MHz processor and provides three flexible axis ports that can be configured in software as pulse-and-direction stepper outputs (up to 2 MHz) or as encoder feedback inputs (up to 6 MHz), supporting incremental encoder types as well as SSI, Tamagawa, and EnDat absolute encoder formats. Built-in I/O includes Eight (8) dedicated 24V DC digital inputs — six of which serve as registration inputs — plus Four (4) bi-directional I/O channels, Two (2) 12-bit analogue inputs, and Two (2) ±10V analogue voltage outputs (MC403 DAC variant); a watchdog relay is also included. The unit supports up to 512 external I/O channels via DIN-rail-mounted CAN I/O expansion modules.
The MC403 supports panel mount or DIN rail installation and requires a 24V DC supply; the unit must be mounted on an unpainted metal plate or DIN rail connected to earth, as the chassis is grounded through the metal backplate. A Micro SD card slot provides program and data storage, and the built-in Ethernet port (100 BaseT) supports programming, Modbus-TCP, Ethernet IP, and HMI connectivity directly from the controller. Programming is performed via Trio's Motion Perfect software using the multi-tasking TrioBASIC language, with IEC 61131-3 runtime available as an optional feature-enable code (FEC).
