This striking antique French standing cross is crafted from black ebonised wood, standing proudly on a matching turned pedestal base that features the inscription "SOUVENIR DE N.D SUR VIRE" near the bottom. At the centre of the cross sits ,a silver metal Jesus figure sits on the cross, which is accented by ornate metal flourishes at each end. A very rare detail is the inclusion of the small Golgotha skull and crossbones located just below the feet of the figure. The item is in good used condition with some age related wear as shown in the photos and revolving video. It stands 22.5cm tall, 9cm wide, with a 6cm base diameter, while the silver metal figure measures 6cm tall and the religious cross weighs 60g.
