I loved this movie. I have to admit, I find Zac Efron to be a pretty funny dude. DeNiro is already a great actor no matter what he does. He can play a dirty grandpa one day and a mob boss the next and then a weathered detective the next day and sell all three as genuine. As for Efron, he has really done well transforming himself from that pretty boy Disney kid in HS Musical into a very good comedic actor. I have yet to see him in anything other than comedies so I have no reference for his chops outside the genre. As for the movie.. Excellent. Funny as hell. DeNiro is at his funniest and his best. These two compliment each other nicely. This is not just regular comedy for the kiddies. This is a movie filled with the F word, dicks and drugs. Nuff said there. There is that old story about a guy who is marrying somebody all wrong for him and a road trip cures him of that burden. Especially when you are in Daytona Beach during Spring Break with your recently widowed Grandfather who takes his wife's dying wish seriously. The wish? Move on and do whatever you want with your life. What does grandpa want? He wants to get laid. Bring in the chicks. Aubrey Plaza is great and extremely dirty. She also has a things for very old men and they spend the whole movie moving closer to that moment when they will eventually get it on. You'll have to stick around to find out if grandpa gets lucky with the extremely hot Plaza. Efron falls for a girl also. Plaza's friend and wingwoman. He falls for her and doesn't know what to do about the bossy bride to be at home who has him by the nuts. Also, some great scenes with Dermot Mulroney as Efron's father. He's as bad as the bride to be and needs to be taught the value of being a father. They certainly do that for him in the end. Funny stuff all around.
