2006 (56) BMW X5 3.0d Sport Auto (E53) - M57 Engine For sale is my BMW X5 E53 3.0d fitted with the legendary M57N 3.0 diesel engine, widely regarded as one of BMW's most reliable diesel engines. The car has covered 182,000 miles, but has been exceptionally well maintained with thousands of pounds spent bringing it up to a very high mechanical standard. The bodywork is in very good condition for its age and the vehicle drives exactly as it should. Comes with fresh MOT with advisories rectified Major work carried out: * Front suspension overhauled- new shocks, springs, top mounts & arms * Rear suspension overhauled - new shocks, springs, top mounts & arms (incl. Integral links) * Air suspension professionally converted to rear coil springs (far more reliable than ageing air bags) * Brake discs and pads all round * New rear brake callipers * Glow plugs and glow plug control module * Exhaust manifold replaced with upgraded cast manifold * Thermostat & Coolant temperature sensor * Fresh coolant * Oil, fuel, air and pollen filters replaced * Auxiliary belts * New grilles * Front & rear BMW badges * Headlamp lenses restored * New indicator lens * All new wipers * Washer bottle filter * Parking sensor replaced * Vacuum pipe replaced * New number plates * Various bulbs replaced * EGR delete completed Recent maintenance includes: * Gearbox, transfer case and differentials serviced * Air conditioning serviced * Four new tyres fitted and balance (last photo shows wheels fitted for MOT hence advisories - can negotiate on price without 20in wheels) Overall, well over 5 thousand has been invested in maintenance and preventative work, making this one of the better maintained E53s available. Please note * The 'Suspension Inactive' warning is displayed because the original rear air suspension has been removed and replaced with a rear coil spring conversion. The warning simply requires coding out and does not affect how the vehicle drives. * There is also an occasional jolt when coming to a standstill as the gearbox changes from 2nd to 1st gear. It is intermittent and not present on every stop. This is a well-documented characteristic on these gearboxes and I've chosen to be completely transparent about it. A genuine, honest example that has had the expensive jobs already done. The reliable M57 engine pulls strongly, the gearbox changes smoothly overall, and it's ready to be enjoyed. Viewings welcome. Any inspection is encouraged.
