Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of mid-century history. This is a vintage 1940s Retro Art Deco era women's nurse lapel watch brooch. The design features a highly stylized yellow gold-tone scrolling leaf and ribbon pin mechanism. Suspended from the brooch is a distinct rectangular mechanical watch head. The timepiece features a stunning, original copper/rose gold-toned dial face with classic mid-century numerals. True to its historic design as a nurse or doctor's watch, the watch face is intentionally oriented upside down relative to the pin. This allowed medical professionals to look down at their lapel and easily read the time right-side up without using their hands.
