This is 18pt Engravers Roman Shaded font--a Roman serif, inline-shaded, all
caps typeface with punctuation, numbers, $ & ? ! symbols. Extremely RARE antique font I got from the Chicago Printing Museum. Similar to typeface used on US paper money. Box is 4" by 5.5"
I have several similar in other sizes, see my other auctions:
American Type Founders issued Engravers Shaded, designed by Morris Benton about 1906, while BB&S had Engravers Roman Shaded, formerly Chester Title, designed by Sidney Gaunt in 1914.
Perfect for printing letterpress
stationery, announcements or title type. This ships in a small flat rate
box and packaged to completely protect the type inside. Refer to photos
to confirm 18pt size.
***The letters are all BACKWARDS and print forwards*** I've included a right-reading photo so you can see what it looks like. Regular letterpress wear and tear. This is meant for letterpress printing with a printing press, there may be remnants of ink on the type and it may be dirty.
This typography is usable and printable as an antique component for letterpress prints. Make your own gift enclosures, greeting cards, notebook covers, ornaments and much more with imagery like this on your letterpress printing press, mark making, clay, gel printing, they also make great souvenirs, gifts or visual knick knacks.
Type High Block is US .918" high which is the standard for printing blocks in the US
(this is the measurement from the bottom surface of the block to the printing surface)
I provide all measurements here in printers measure - Picas and Points (There are 6 picas in an inch for non printers.)
Also see photos - picas and inches are indicated on my ruler shown.
Shipping
This is too heavy to ship via first class mail - it will go in a flat rate box.
If you want to order multiple items it is sometimes best to contact me -
I prefer to ship several items in small flat rate boxes because of the weight of some of these pieces. I can fit ~3 Small Flat Rate Boxes inside 1 Medium Flat Rate Box.
International
Sorry but I cannot ship any packages overseas at this time.
Thanks for looking. Julie B.
