Brian Hirst, born 1956 in Gippsland, has been one of Australia's leading experimental glass artists for more than 40 years.

He has exhibited widely in Australia and overseas and has received much international acclaim, including the prestigious "World Glass Now 94" prize from the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art.

Based in Sydney, his work is held in national and state galleries, museums and in public collections in the United States, Denmark, Germany, China, Japan and France.
