Paul Detlefsen "Worlds Beyond" 1969 Rare Abstract Outer Space Themed Glossy Print On Board
Paul Detlefsen, noted illustrator and academy award winner (while working with Walt Disney), created two abstract outer space paintings and had prints made by the Donald Art Company. This is one of them from 1969. This piece, titled "Worlds Beyond", was a very atypical modern outer space graphic illustration from an artist specializing in landscape realism. They are hard to find, and considered rare. The original print is mounted on a thick fiberboard backing, designed to hang without need for a picture frame. It measures 22" x 28". Detlefsen died in 1986 and was noted for his Americana down-home themed paintings.
Currently, I count 6 of these rare prints available on eBay, and this one is certainly the nicest, considering coloring and condition. Very good condition, with minimum scuffing or bumped damage to corners. Still has the cardboard hang tag, and original price tag on back! Clean, nonsmoking home.
