Artamount Inc. was the American distributor and importer that brought these made in Italy, Fornasetti style tribute pieces to the U.S. market during the mid 20th century (1950's). The Melodramma Operas Italy Gold Coasters. Made from ceramic material, these coasters feature a luxurious gold color. This set has seen use and has wear as pictured. Ideal for collectors or those looking to enhance their barware collection. Operas represented are Desdemona, Madame Butterfly, Jose, and Carmen. Coolest part of about this set is they are in their orignal 1950's coaster box marked on the bottom MX 935, Made In Italy, Artamount Inc. The coasters are 4.1" across.

They are highly collectible in their own right among Mid Century Modern and Hollywood Regency decor enthusiasts.
