Because actual Bf 109s were unavailable, producers of the 1969 film Battle of Britain purchased a large surplus fleet from the Spanish Air Force of Spanish-built Hispano Aviación HA-1112 "Buchón" aircraft to represent German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighters.

In some scenes, Buchons were even disguised to represent Hawker Hurricanes to make up more numbers!

Markings for two Luftwaffe Bf 109s and an RAF Hawker HURRICANE.
