Amazing 19thC Royal Navy Bosuns Ropework Persuader (c.1850)

Persuaders were a form of naval discipline permitted to be used in the Royal Navy to force sailors to put more effort into their work

This 12” long Persuader is in fine fettle with areas of patina commensurate with its age and use. Its made a waxed hand plaited rope or twine exterior with lead weighted ends. It’s really showing off some of the skills by the sailors of its day!
