Released in 1981 The Cannonball Run (Japanese title: Cannonball) is a film about an illegal race from the East Coast of the United States to California on the West Coast. The strategies of each participant are a highlight of the film and in this movie a sexy pair of women in racing suits drive a Countach. Their plan is to use their seduction tactics to get male police officers to overlook their speeding and traffic violations... The famous scene in the opening in which the beautiful pair engage in a car chase with a police car became a staple opening scene for subsequent Cannonball films. The vehicle used in the film has been selected as the 30th vehicle to be registered in the National Register of Historic Vehicles at the Library of Congress. To commemorate this in 2021 the 40th anniversary of the film the car was displayed at the National Mall in Washington D.C.
