My dad was a sportswriter in New York and was working at this game. This was the National League against American League at Yankee Stadium. Because my dad was a writer he received media kits before special games. Included in this media folder is an (embossed letterhead) application from Baseball Writers’ of America for credentials to cover the 1977 game. Also included from NY Yankees a letter letting my dad know his credentials had been approved. Finally, a letter from The New York Sheraton inviting him to a party in honor of the All Star Game on July 18th. The media folder itself, is intact but a little wear to the red background around edges. Just a little slice of baseball history here, 49 years ago.
