Royal Doulton L Series Nursery Rhyme Set, Hukin & Heath, Polly Put Kettle On & Hush a Bye BabyRoyal Doulton child's set from the "Nursery Rhymes L Series" featuring illustrations by Ann Anderson a popular artist of the era, this set has a plate for "Polly put the kettle on" and a beaker with "Hush a bye Baby". I believe there were twelve different designs. The beaker has a silver plated holder made by the influential electroplater Hukin & Heath. The spoon is unmarked but is typical of others I have seen in these sets. Comes in a smart box with imitation crocodile or similar covering. These were in production between 1916 and the mid-1930s.
I have included a number of photos and these probably describe the item better than I can and form part of the description. Everyone has different considerations when purchasing items and if you need any further information, please feel free to contact me and I will try to help.
Condition: In a very good used condition, the china is free of chips and cracks, there is some light crazing to the underside/base of the beaker and some very very light utensil marks to the plate. The silver plated items have no plate loss but do have light scratching from use. The box is very reasonable especially internally but the covering is starting to split at one corner.
Size: Box 25.2cm by 14.7cm by 8.2cm tall, beaker 8.8cm tall, plate 13cm diameter. Combined weight 703grams.
Please feel free to ask any questions but please please ask through Ebay. Unfortunately, selling on Ebay generates a lot of spam and dubious emails and we now only respond to questions placed directly through Ebay. We will try to answer questions as soon as possible. There are times where we may not be able to reply within 24 hours but we will reply well before the listing ends.
Packing - We pack to ensure the item arrives with you undamaged. If you have specific packing instructions, please contact us before paying as this may have an impact on the price, as both an increase in weight or size can increase the cost of delivery.
We do try to recycle boxes and other materials wherever possible and will mostly use newspaper for padding out, if it does not have any impact on the cost of postage.
